CIMAS affirms commitment and support to Africa University

11 October 2021

CIMAS Managing Director Mrs. Tino Mushapaidze and Regional Manager Mrs. Dorothy Mhondoro paid a courtesy call on Acting Vice Chancellor Rev. Professor Peter Mageto and the Executive Cabinet  on the 11th of October 2021 where the university’s partner in health provision and wellbeing reaffirmed its support and commitment to Africa University.

Managing Director Mrs. Mushapaidze spoke of the excellent relations that the two organizations enjoy placing emphasis on the positive impact that the partnership has brought to the university community and beyond over the years.

“Africa University is our strategic development partner and the purpose of this visit is to explore other means though which we can enrich our engagement and carry our partnership forward.”

Acting Vice Chancellor Rev. Prof. Mageto appreciated the constant support that CIMAS has shown to the institution through CIMAS’ sponsorship of graduation prizes to motivate and recognize new graduates,  internship opportunities offered to continuing students and the impeccable staff wellness support that it offers. Africa University is one of only 3 universities in Zimbabwe that the medical health insurer accepts students for attachment from speaking to the caliber  and renown of the university’s students.

Affirming this, Mrs. Mushapaidze said,

” The students that we receive for training are always so eager and diligent . They are a pleasure to work with and always perform to a very high standard.”

Areas for potential partnership were narrowed down to the equipping of the Highland Park Student Union gymnasium, upgrading the Bishop Alfred L. Norris Health Care Center patient claims service to be entirely online with a commitment by CIMAS to train staff to utilize the electronic  system to increase efficiency and customer service, through to sponsoring the upcoming annual Community Wellness Day in November that has become a much anticipated mainstay of the university calendar.

CIMAS has been Zimbabwe’s leading medical aid society for over 75 years, preferred by corporates and families since 1945. As a medical aid provider that has stood the test of time, all of its members are reassured through the trust and security of being looked after by a society that is professional, approachable and above all, a society whose primary care and concern is for its members.
