News in brief: Board Chairman Bishop Mande Muyombo affirms Africa University strategic vision and focus

Africa University Board Chairman Bishop Mande Muyombo (DRC) visited the Africa University main campus as the institution ramps up preparations to host the virtual inauguration of the 5th Chancellor -Bishop Gaspar Domingos , and the 27th Graduation Ceremony set for the 3rd of July 2021. Addressing all staff virtually in observance of social distancing protocols, the Board Chair thanked those who serve for their dedication, commitment and fortitude despite the turbulent times that have rocked the globe through COVID -19  and the university at large after the loss of the 4th Chancellor Bishop John Yambasu and the 4th Vice Chancellor Professor Munashe Furusa  in the years 2020 and 2021 respectively.

The Chairman went on to urge the focus on and adherence to the core values that have seen the university maintain its standing as a university of choice on the continent at par with the best universities in the region. He spoke to the need to preserve the international nature of the university through its diverse student body, service excellence in teaching and administration and consistent focus on student satisfaction and academic excellence.  

Bishop Muyombo went on to thank the university executive for its tireless dedication and steadfast vision affirming the work , passion and mission of the university. His visit culminated in a tour of the university facilities with the Executive Cabinet.
